ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY
"early explorers often called the beluga or white whale the 'sea canary' because of its lively chatter. He is probably the most vocal or 'noisy' of all whales ...”
The seacanary as a film turned out to be an ambiguous piece of work, a sort of low profile contemporary “queste” or “grail” story.
The original idea was to shoot a portrait of Dirk Claessen, the most outstanding moulding expert on the Belgian territory.
A portrait, and at the same time his beluga moulding project in Greenland mixed up with my own activities as a visual artist. |
